Day 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29

Lots of Catching Up...

Photo #29

Thought seeing as we're at the end of the month, I'd re-visit a subject from my first photo from the project.

Photo #28

On a bit of a tattoo thing. I think its a little cliched, but it allows for some great moody black and whites. Tattoos are essentially art, so I guess I'm just extended on that idea. Hope to do some more, scoping out new subjects...

Image #29...plus some..

Bit of a Duane Michals inspired sequence for you photography enthusiasts. Rather enjoyed something different. A lot more work, hence the 'catch-up'.

Photo #26

Interesting pattern..??.. I like the mix of organic and man-made.

Photo #25

I've always taken pics of dogs, especially my own. Although a posed photo is both a challenge and a great looking result, candid ones are definately my favourite.

I've failed my mini project.

Photo #21

Given the last few days I've had, with work and my overall mood, it was a big thing not too completely fail. But I managed some ok images, well actually, I'm really happy with them... they're so different to one another. I'm really enjoy mucking around with my camera.

Have you had a look at the album...see side bar...>>>

Day 19 & 20

Photo #20

This image is a bit of a trick...

Image #19

I am so ready for winter... mornings like this are just great. Love being able to enjoy my morning coffee, rather than sweat over it.

Day 2 of mini-project

Day 17

Day 1 - MINI PROJECT
Photo/Image #17

Ventured out today. I've been past this building a lot and loved the way the paint was cracking away. Bumped up the contarst to emphasise the texture.

Day 16

Photo #16

I've struggled the last few days and do it a bit last minute, hence the night shots, but this one came easy when I saw the light cutting across my floor this morning.

MINI-PROJECT:
I do need to make more effort to venture out with my photos, as most are taken at home. I'm setting myself a mini-project... I must do this weeks worth of photos(7) away from my house. Starting from tomorrow, #17 through to #23.

Day 13, 14 & 15

Photo's # 13, 14 and 15
I'm having some fixation with abstracting light and shifting away from the standard way of using light. I enjoy mucking around to see the results I get.

I even just like the different colours of lights in this photo. Not many people would realise that fluro lights show up green in photos... this can be both fun... and annoying.

Both #14 and #15, below, are of my front door. I often look at the pattern of the wire and the glass, the way the light shines through and have wanted to photograph it.

14 was taken in the day, 15 at night.

Day 11

Photo 11

Have you notice I call some 'photos' and others 'images'. I guess if I alter them, then I call it an image. To be fair to the project I will try to limit images like the last few to one a week, aim for actual photographs. Sort of a vague rule, as with doing a self portrait per month. I'm really loving the photoshop creations, to see more of these visit my other blog... LIME photo graphics

Day 10

Image 10

This is taking the idea from the last couple of images a step further. I've completely abstracted the photo. Its created a whole new image as the original photo was of a tap...

Day 7, 8 and 9

Image 9...
I was feeling in the mood for a bit of photoshop creativity.

I find that I often take an image now with the idea that it will make a good backdrop or some text will look good with it. But I usually open the image with no idea about what the finish product will be.

Day 5 & 6

Here is photo #5 and #6... and yes there should be a #7 but it hasn't been taken yet. Thinking of a night shot. So I am posting what I can, when I can...

The cow below is part of a larger collection of decorated cows for a nearby town. They're sort of a town feature/tourist attraction with many different artists contributing. They also appear in other towns in the same shire. I think they're fantastic, but sometimes seem a little out of place. My son called this one
"The Swirly Cow".

"New Gumboots"...kids have such simple pleasures.

Day 4

Photo #4...

I'm doing pretty well... its quite a task really. I'm amazed I've been able to post each day, although I can't say that it'll continue. So here is a pic of my cat Lucy.. she's actually quite a poser so I found out.

Day 3

#3...

I really enjoy using light, rather than just metering correctly and having the light balanced. I think it creates a certain mood...
for example, summer days...

Sunday, March 4, 2007

Day 2

Day 2

Here's #2... and my first self portrait for the project.
Its suggested you attempt one a month, to see how you change over the year.

So this is the 2nd self portrait I've EVER done! I don't like them...hence the mood of the photo. I do like the lighting...

Day 1

Day 1... Photo #1

My son was asleep when I started this, so for my first shot I couldn't go far and wanted to get something done straight away.

I think this will be a great challenge. I'm sure there will be many more days when all I can do is walk around home to find a shot, but thats a challenge in itself. Then there will be the days when I capture some amazing image.
